(Denver, CO) -- Emergency volunteers are being recognized by the state Legislature for their service during the Black Forest and Waldo Canyon fires. A resolution was passed yesterday that salutes the nearly 150 people from the Medical Reserve Corps of El Paso County. They contributed over two-thousand hours of service during the two fires. Lawmakers are also recognizing the forward thinking and planning by the El Paso County Medical Society to train and prepare for disaster response. The group is the parent organization for the medical reserve corps.
