(Denver, CO) -- A bill designed to protect Colorado car buyers is up for final passage today in the state Senate. It would close a loophole which allows cars six years and older to be exempt from salvage title status. The new bill would require salvage titles for vehicles heavily damaged by an accident, flooding or a fire. It would affect cases where the value of the vehicle is less than what it would take to make it roadworthy again. The average age of a Colorado car is now over eleven-years-old.
