(Colorado Springs, CO) -- The clock is ticking for those looking to recall El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa from office. There's a deadline of July 12th to turn in enough valid signatures to trigger a recall election in November. The group needs more than 44-thousand people to sign on. Organizers say they're confident they'll be able to meet the deadline. Maketa has been recently accused of sexual impropriety with female employees, creating a hostile work environment and other allegations. County commissioners called for his resignation, but Maketa has resisted.
