Springs Utilities Believes Power Supplies Will Meet Needs
(Colorado Springs, CO) -- Colorado Springs Utilities officials don't believe there will be a short term power crunch following the Martin Drake Power Plant fire. Energy services General Manager John Romero says the utility will be able to meet customer needs. The flames yesterday left the power plant offline, and it's unknown when it will be operational again. Romero says that does mean long term plans need to be made. Power was rerouted from other plants to help ease the pain. Nobody was seriously hurt in the massive fire. The cause is under investigation.
