(El Paso County, CO) -- The District Attorney's Office now has the El Paso County Sheriff's Office investigation report into the cause and origin of the Black Forest Fire. The sheriff's office announced yesterday the report was handed over. The DA's office will now determine whether it believes there should be charges filed in connection with the fire. The report will not be made public just yet, because the case is still active. The fire burned hundreds of homes and killed two people more than a year ago. Over 14-thousand acres of land were scorched. The sheriff's office was able to complete its investigation after receiving a key report from the U.S. Forest Service.
