(Colorado Springs, CO) -- The Colorado Springs City Council is reportedly looking at making changes to prevent Mayor Bach from firing its staffers. The "Colorado Springs Gazette" reports a change to the city's charter would be needed. Currently, the mayor can fire any city employee. The issue revolves around the recent firing of council legislative assistant George Culpepper. Bach fired him after he contacted Alaska Airlines directly concerning pot policies. The paper says council members agreed during a retreat yesterday to look at drafting a change in the charter which could go to voters in November.
