(Pueblo, CO) -- Pueblo authorities believe a bank robbery suspect who jumped into the Arkansas River was swept into the undertow and they were searching for a possible body. The events began with a robbery yesterday at Security Service Federal Credit Union on Abriendo Avenue. Police were chasing the suspect when he went into the river near the Santa Fe bridge, climbed onto a pillar and dove into a spillway. He came up briefly before disappearing under the water. The "Chieftain" says Pueblo police spokesperson Eric Gonzales says they think he hit some rocks, adding "there's no way he cleared the spillway."
