(Colorado Springs, CO) -- Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach is taking steps to increase help for the city's homeless. A plan was unveiled yesterday by his wife Suzi Bach and city staffer Aimee Cox. It will make five-million-dollars available over the next two years to make facility improvements and provide services to the homeless. The plan includes building a new day center, as well as increasing the amount of emergency shelter beds during the winter months. The funding is coming from re-purposed federal grants. The city will work with partners including El Paso County, Pikes Peak United Way and others.
