(Washington, DC) -- Congressman Doug Lamborn is defending his attendance record involving meetings of the House Committee on Veteran Affairs. He tells the "Colorado Springs Gazette" there have been conflicts due to demands on his time. Lamborn serves on three committees and six subcommittees. He was recently targeted by Democratic challenger Irv Halter, who said Lamborn had missed over half of the VA committee meetings in the last two years. Halter claims it shows the Congressman doesn't put veterans as a top priority. Lamborn says even if he can't attend a meeting, one of his staffers is on hand to take notes.
