El Paso County Will Not Issue Same-Sex Marriage Licenses
(El Paso Co., CO) -- El Paso County will not be joining the rush to issue same-sex marriage licenses. Boulder, Pueblo and Denver counties have decided to go ahead and issue them following some key court rulings on the issue. The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office says it will follow the current state law which bans same-sex marriage, and won't be following suit unless that changes. Boulder County recently started issuing them after a decision by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which struck down a ban on gay marriage in Utah. That decision was stayed, pending appeal. Pueblo County will start issuing the licenses today.
