District Attorney: Police Were Justified In Shooting Maldonado
(Adams County, CO) -- A local district attorney has decided no criminal charges will be filed against police officers involved in the deadly shooting of Wesley Maldonado earlier this year. Dave Young is district attorney for Adams and Broomfield counties.

Authorities say 35-year-old Wesley Maldonado was killed after a chase with officers that went from Thornton to Denver, then back to Thornton in January. Police say they were responding to a possible domestic violence situation where a gun had been fired on East 88th Avenue in Thornton. Officials say Maldonado seemed to have deliberately hit police vehicles while driving through an apartment complex. Police say he also pointed a gun at officers.
