(Denver, CO) -- Colorado's Department of Public Safety chief is leaving his post. Governor Hickenlooper announced the departure of Jim Davis yesterday. He's leaving the executive director position to start his own private security consulting firm. Hickenlooper says Davis consolidated agencies such as emergency management and wildland firefighting under one umbrella during his tenure with tremendous leadership. Davis served in the position since 2011. His resignation is effective at the end of March.
