Border Patrol Swamped By Undocumented Migrant Crisis
Monday, July 14
(Laredo, TX) -- The U.S. Border Patrol is being swamped by the flood of undocumented immigrants across the southwest. Border Patrol union spokesman Hector Garza says most agents are no longer focused on keeping an eye on the border.
Garza says in his opinion, the situation is leaving "a very porous border in our country." He blames Central American drug cartels for creating and exploiting the humanitarian crisis to cover their criminal activities along the border.
Garza believes drug cartels are having kids cross at rivers instead of at border crossings to spread border patrol agents thin.
Garza says agents are frustrated the border situation has reached the crisis stage.
