(Centennial, CO) -- A bill authored by a Grand Junction Republican calls for Colorado to spend eight-million dollars for its own firefighting air fleet. State Senator Steve King gave details on it yesterday as a Canada-based company demonstrated its latest firefighting aircraft in Centennial. King wants the state to buy four tanker bombers and three tactical helicopters for its own fire containment force. He says Colorado needs next generation aircraft that can perform at night and at high elevations.
