(Washington, DC) -- The Obama administration is not hitting the number of young people it needs to enroll in federal health exchanges. Numbers released Monday by the Department of Health and Human Services show about 24 percent of those who've enrolled in health plans under the Affordable Care Act are in the 18-to-34 age range. Experts think about 40 percent of all Obamacare enrollees need to be in that demographic to make the program work financially. Two-point-two million people had enrolled in a health insurance program through federal exchanges as of December 28th.
